Permit-Ready Structural Drawings in Niagara Region

Building permit applications often require clear, professionally prepared structural drawings before work can be approved by the municipality. ShearPath Engineering provides P.Eng-stamped, permit-ready structural drawings for residential renovations, additions, wall removals, and structural modifications across Niagara Region.

Our drawing packages include the structural details, framing notes, beam and post information, and construction requirements needed for permit submission and site work. We prepare drawings for homeowners, contractors, architects, and designers working with local municipalities in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland, Fort Erie, Thorold, and surrounding Niagara communities.

Our Process

We begin by reviewing the details of your project to understand the scope of the proposed structural modifications. This may include reviewing architectural plans, contractor sketches, site photos, or conducting a site visit if necessary to assess the existing structural conditions.

During this stage, we identify the structural elements involved in the project and determine the information required to prepare accurate permit drawings.

Project Review & Information Gathering

Once the project requirements are established, we perform the structural calculations needed to design the required structural components. This may include beams, posts, lintels, headers, or other supporting members depending on the nature of the project.

All structural members are analyzed and designed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code and applicable design standards such as CSA O86 – Engineering Design in Wood. Our engineering analysis ensures the proposed structural modifications safely transfer loads through the structure and meet all required strength and serviceability criteria.

Structural Analysis & Code Compliance

After completing the structural design, we prepare clear and detailed engineering drawings for submission to your local municipality as part of the building permit application.

These drawings include beam specifications, post locations, connection details, load paths, and any other structural requirements necessary for construction. All drawings are reviewed and stamped by a licensed professional engineer, confirming compliance with the Ontario Building Code.
