Structural Assessments
Structural issues that go undetected or ignored can lead to serious damage and cost hundred of thousands of dollars to repair.
We provide structural assessments for residential properties to evaluate issues such as cracks, sagging floors, shifting walls, or other signs of structural movement. Our inspections identify the underlying structural conditions and provide clear recommendations for repair or reinforcement when needed. All assessments are conducted with careful consideration of Ontario Building Code requirements.
Our Process
Our process begins with a site visit to evaluate the structural condition of the home. We inspect key structural components such as foundation walls, floor framing, beams, columns, load-bearing walls, and roof framing to identify signs of movement, cracking, deflection, or other structural concerns.
This inspection helps us understand how loads are currently being transferred through the structure and determine whether further analysis or corrective action is required.
Site Visit & Structural Inspection
Following the inspection, we evaluate the observed conditions to determine the cause and significance of any structural issues. Our analysis considers load paths, structural capacity, settlement behavior, and the interaction between structural elements.
Where necessary, we perform engineering calculations to verify the capacity of existing members and assess whether reinforcement or repair may be required. Our evaluation is completed with consideration of the Ontario Building Code and applicable engineering standards.
Structural Analysis & Engineering Evaluation
After completing the assessment, we provide a clear engineering report outlining our findings and recommendations. The report describes the observed structural conditions and provides guidance on any required repairs, reinforcement, or monitoring.
Where structural work is required, we can also prepare engineered drawings to assist contractors in carrying out the work safely and correctly.
